Privacy & Google data
Privacy policy
Effective October 30, 2026. This policy describes Legg Family Calendar, a personal household dashboard maintained by John Legg, and this informational website.
Information the dashboard uses
Google account email and verification status identify the connected accounts. Calendar access reads the calendar list and event details and allows creating, updating and deleting events on the selected family calendar. Event information includes titles, dates, times, descriptions, family assignments and synchronization identifiers.
If Gmail import is enabled, the app reads inbox messages received after import was configured, including message identifiers, headers, sender addresses, subjects and plain-text content or snippets. Messages are retrieved before the app checks its allowed-sender list. Matching messages are stored for appointment review and duplicate prevention. The app does not send or delete Gmail messages, and does not download attachments for parsing.
The dashboard also uses locally entered notes and events, selected photo folders, weather coordinates, a display time zone and other preferences.
How information is used
Information is used to display and manage family plans, identify family members for colors, review appointment emails, prevent duplicate imports, synchronize pending edits, show local photos and retrieve weather. Calendar descriptions created from email reviews may include email text and are visible to people with access to that calendar. Automatic appointment entry is optional; uncertain messages require review.
Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train artificial-intelligence models. The application parses appointment text locally; it does not send email or calendar content to an AI service.
Storage and protection
The household device stores settings, notes, local events, cached Google events, pending changes and email-review records. Google authorization tokens are stored in files restricted to the operating-system account running the app. These controls are not a claim of database encryption. The dashboard listens on the device’s local loopback address in the current setup; it is not hosted on this public website.
Automatic backups include the local database and selected settings, including email-review records and cached events. The latest 30 daily automatic backups are retained; manual backups remain until removed. Photos and Google sign-in credentials are excluded from these backups. Local photos remain in the folders selected by the household.
Sharing and service providers
Google processes account authorization, Calendar synchronization and Gmail access. People granted access to the shared calendar can see information according to its Google sharing permissions. Open-Meteo receives weather coordinates and location-search queries to supply forecasts and matching places; network services also receive ordinary connection metadata such as the requesting IP address. Calendar and email content are not sent to the weather provider.
Cloudflare hosts this public information website and processes ordinary request information, such as IP addresses, for delivery and security. This website has no dashboard login, tracking scripts, advertising or contact forms. The site does not intentionally set analytics cookies. Requests sent to the support email are handled through Gmail for support.
Retention, access and deletion
Local event caches, notes, email review/import history and settings remain on the household device until removed or reset; approving or dismissing a review does not erase its stored record. Pending changes remain until synchronized or resolved. Records can also remain in backups until those backups are deleted or rotated.
You can delete events and notes in the dashboard. Deleting a Google event through the dashboard synchronizes the deletion when connectivity and authorization are available. Local deletion does not erase original Gmail messages. You can disable email checking in Settings and revoke Calendar or Gmail authorization through Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized access but does not automatically erase local records or backups.
For removal of stored review history, caches, credentials or backups, or other access and deletion requests, contact leggfamilycalendar@gmail.com. The maintainer can assist the household with removing data from its device. Original Google data and its retention are also governed by Google and the account owner’s settings.
Limited Use commitment
Legg Family Calendar’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
